This Privacy Policy explains how ilovemypets.ai ("ilovemypets.ai," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, web application, and mobile applications (together, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: email address and password (if you register with email), or the identifier returned by Apple or Google when you sign in with those services.
- Photos you upload: images of pets and, for certain templates, images of people (including human faces). See Section 3 for how we treat facial images.
- Content and inputs: template selections, text prompts, pet details (name, species, and optional attributes such as gender used to select a voice), and any messages you send us.
- Payment information: subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive transaction and subscription-status data from these processors and from RevenueCat.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, and interactions with the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies (web only): see Section 6.
1.3 Media we generate
- Generated outputs: the videos, images, and audio the Service creates from your inputs, and associated metadata.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create your account and authenticate you;
- Generate the media you request (this requires sending your photos and inputs to third-party AI providers — see Section 4);
- Provide, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service;
- Process subscriptions, purchases, and the treats balance;
- Send transactional messages (e.g., password resets, purchase confirmations) and, where permitted, service notifications;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and content that violates our Terms;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your photos.
3. Facial Images and Biometric-Related Data
Some templates ("you & your pet") let you upload a photo of a person, including a human face. We process these images solely to generate the media you request.
- We use facial images only to create your requested output. We do not use them for facial recognition, identity verification, or to build a biometric database, and we do not sell them.
- You must have the right to upload any photo of a person. By uploading an image containing another person, you confirm you have that person's consent. Do not upload images of people (especially minors) without their permission.
- Facial images are retained until you delete the associated content or your account, after which they are purged (see Section 7).
4. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers
The core of the Service is AI generation. To create your media, we send your uploaded photos, prompts, and related inputs to third-party AI processors. These providers process your content on our behalf to return a generated result:
- fal.ai — AI model gateway that routes generation requests (video, image, and text-to-speech).
- Kling (via fal.ai) — talking/animated video generation.
- ElevenLabs (via fal.ai) — text-to-speech voice generation.
- Anthropic (Claude) — text/script generation, content moderation, and automated image checks.
- Runway — real-time and generated character/avatar features (including the "call" feature).
- Additional image/video models accessed via fal.ai (e.g., Nano Banana, GPT Image, SeedDance, Veo, and similar) used to fulfill specific templates.
By using the Service you understand that generation cannot occur without transmitting your content to these providers.
5. Other Third-Party Services (Sub-Processors)
We share limited information with service providers who help us operate:
Hosting & storage
- Railway — application/backend hosting.
- MongoDB Atlas — database.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage of uploaded and generated media.
Authentication
- Apple (Sign in with Apple) and Google (Google Sign-In) — if you use those sign-in options.
Payments & subscriptions
- Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe — payment processing.
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
Communications
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications (mobile).
Analytics & advertising (see Section 6)
- Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, Hotjar (web).
Each provider is authorized to use your information only to perform services for us.
6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies (Web)
On our website and web app, we use cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics — usage and traffic analytics.
- TikTok Pixel — measuring advertising performance and building/measuring ad audiences. This may involve sharing identifiers and event data with TikTok.
- Hotjar — session recording and heatmaps to understand how users interact with pages.
Some of these technologies involve sharing personal information with advertising/analytics partners, which may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under certain US state laws (see Section 9).
You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of certain tools (e.g., Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on; TikTok ad-settings).
Mobile apps: the above web tracking tools are generally not used in the same way in our native apps. On iOS, any tracking is subject to Apple's App Tracking Transparency; we will request permission where required.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Retention: We retain your account information, uploaded photos, and generated media until you delete them or delete your account.
- Account deletion: You can delete your account from within the app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing support@ilovemypets.ai. When you delete your account, we purge your uploaded photos, generated media, and associated personal data from our active systems, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution obligations. Residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
- Content sent to third-party AI providers is subject to their retention practices (see Section 4).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Delete your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Port your data;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any right, email support@ilovemypets.ai. We will respond as required by applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. US State Privacy Rights (including California)
If you are a US resident, you may have rights under state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and similar laws in other states, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and targeted advertising.
Because we use advertising/analytics technologies (Section 6), we may "share" personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out by emailing support@ilovemypets.ai. We do not knowingly process the personal information of anyone under 18.
10. International Data Transfers
We use service providers located in the United States and other countries. Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed outside your country of residence, where data-protection laws may differ. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@ilovemypets.ai and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, notify you.
